“ The Blind Mule is the kind of place you stumble into once and then plan to return to every time you’re in town. It’s got a kind of ramshackle charm that feels intentional—or at least fully embraced. Picture a Southern bar with a courtyard that’s survived a few storms, a few decades, and still manages to be the most inviting place on the block. The courtyard, rough-edged and full of character, is dog-friendly—a big plus for us and our Great Dane, Darwin, who was immediately served a bowl of cold water like a proper guest. The service was excellent: our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy working there. The food is playful and solidly Southern. I had the LA chicken samich (their spelling, not mine), which was a juicy, pickle-brined fried chicken sandwich with a crisp crust and bold flavor. My wife went with the buffalo chicken wrap—not quite as adventurous, but still well-executed and satisfying. If you like your meals with a bit of local grit, flavor, and good humor, this spot delivers. Not polished, not pretending—but absolutely worth it. ”
